Health Promotion Clinics

The following are available at the surgery. Please ask the receptionist for details:

Hypertension, Diabetes, Asthma/Copd, Epilepsy, Mental Health, Stroke, Hypothyroidism, Chd, Obesity.

In addition special times are set aside for: Cervical Smears and Family Planning.

Minor Operations

Special operating sessions are held to remove skin tags, warts and verrucas. Please ask the receptionist for details.

Baby Clinics and Child Development

Regular weekly clinics are held. Please book an appointment with the nurse.

General Health Promotion

Advice on smoking, alcohol abuse and exercise is available from our health care assistant or any practice nurse.

Periodic Health Reviews

These are available, on request, for any patient who has not been seen in the past three years, and annually for patients over 75.  The practice is currently running an initiative for patients over 75 – if you have not been seen by a GP in the last year you will be contacted by telephone by you named GP to check your current health status and to offer any assitance required.  In the event of us being unable to contact you via telephone you will receive a letter form the practice asking you to contact us.

Phlebotomy

The practice phlebotomist is available to take patient bloods by appointment only. Please contact our reception team to book an appointment.

Sexual Health Promotion

  • Family Planning - The practice is able to offer family planning advice including contraceptive implant and IUD insertions and removals.
  • Sexual Health Screening - We are also able to offer chlamydia screening – please speak to your doctor or nurse regarding this service.
  • It Starts With Me – Terence Higgins Trust - Free postal HIV testing available for gay and bisexual men – it is recommended individuals in these groups have HIV testing annually.  For information please visitorg.uk or discuss further with your health care professional.
